The idle tipping brushes provided by OEM does not effectively clean the glue accumulation on tipping knives. In consequence cutting quality gets poorer, and improper tipping paper rolling defects increase as much as glue accumulates on knives.  To avoid severe quality problems, maker operator needs to stop the machine and clean the knives manually every 2-3 hours. This extra cleaning need causes 10 minutes of uptime loss in average on every cigarette maker.

Pride Sweep driven tipping knife brush kit was developed for effectively cleaning glue build up on tipping knives and avoid relevant quality and safety issues.

In our design, tipping brush continually cleans the knives with a sweeping action, i.e., turning and reciprocal movement. Drive is taken from the machine for mid speed makers, and from an individual motor for the case of high-speed makers.

Implementation of Pride Sweep:

• Completely eliminates the need for manual cleaning interventions, ending up with 10 min. uptime increase every shift.
• Improves tipping paper cutting quality and minimizes “tipping open” defects
• Eliminates risk of hand cutting injuries due to knife cleaning

Pride Sweep is applicable on all cigarette maker types.
 

If you have filter makers like KDF2-3-4 or DF10 not equipped with a Pz dosing system, you have to take wet/dry samples every shift, in order to see if the plasticizer application ratio is correct or not as per tow weight (typically 7%). Up to 1000 filter sticks are rejected in every wet/dry test, causing increase in filter rejects and an annual loss of 10 kUSD in average for every filter maker.

PRIDE TRIMON was developed to monitor plasticizer application ratio online and avoid wet/dry test requirement.  The system is equipped with a sophisticated control system and hi precision digital scales continuously weighing tow bale and plasticizer tank. Actual plasticizer application ratio as well as process fluctuation between upper and lower limits are displayed on the control panel as graph. Critical process parameters like tow consumption per production quantity can also be taken automatically from the system.

PRIDE TRIMON is applicable on all filter makers which do not have plasticizer dosing system.
